I'm not much for deathmatch usually... and never played Quake Arena much when it first came out and preferred Unreal Tournament back in the day. However I got curious and decided to jump on Quake Live to check it out. So far I'm having fun with it and like the way they have the game set up. Will certainly be nice to see it come out of beta. Anyhow I'm Pittfiend on there if anybody is interested in coming and killing me when I'm on. Some of the guys on the forums have a thread going and the later pages have a list of newdoomers who are joined up... so come on and join in.

Mr Rocket is blasting some Legacy 2.0 info even though there's not a lot to implode.Actually The Doom Legacy web site hasn't been updated for a long time, but never the less things have been updated behind closed curtains over on the SVN ~ development stands at floating points and the Ravan GPL has been updated and now marked to be a prudent part of the build, yes legal as much as Doom, which is a good thing. Hit the Megasphere to see what else Mr Rocket has to say. I'm off to blow up somefin'... cya later.

Over on Doom Nexus ReX put up a GZDooM features editing tutorial.Creating maps with GZDooM features allows you to break free of many of the bounds imposed by even advanced source ports such as ZDooM. True 3D architecture, the use of models, and dynamic lights are a few of the features that break GZDooM out of the DooM source port mold. In this section I'll provide the basics of exploiting these features. So there you go.... have a nice day, whats left of it.

Now would be a good time to hit /id Games and have a Beach Day which is designed for Doom 2 in a singleplayer flavor by Dragon Hunter. This map is provided only for single play. This map can be played without jumps, cross and mouse look. There are 6 keys to use (for example red key and red skull - are different). Building this map, I used zdoom in doom and legacy ports for making 3d floors, water and colourmap. That map is available thanks to /id Games.

If you hit Eurogamer you can read more about the fact that Carmack is considering developing for Wii."I'd like to do something there, because I love a lot of what Nintendo has done with the Wii and the DS, but it's just out of sync with the developments that are currently going on at id. Oh and here is a little shot of something for us Doom fans.In closing, Carmack said we would probably hear more about id Software project Doom 4 over the next 12 months as the developer polishes to pitch to publishers.
